Prep Mindset And Summer Heat

JUNE 1ST OFFICIALLY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF MY SLOW CUT FOR BODYBUILDING PREP… AND HONESTLY, THANK GOODNESS.

SUMMER IS CREEPING IN, BIKINI SEASON IS OFFICIALLY HERE, AND SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TIME OF YEAR ALWAYS FLIPS A SWITCH IN ME. IT JUST MAKES ME WANT TO FEEL MY ABSOLUTE BEST IN MY BODY AGAIN.

THINGS START TIGHTENING UP, GETTING MORE DISCIPLINED, AND I STEP BACK INTO THAT PREP MINDSET. I’VE HONESTLY MISSED THE STRUCTURE. THE ROUTINE. THE CHALLENGE. THE FEELING OF PUSHING MYSELF TOWARD A VERSION OF ME I KNOW I’M CAPABLE OF BECOMING.

BUT IF I’M BEING HONEST… LIFE LATELY HASN’T JUST BEEN ABOUT WORKOUTS, MACROS, AND BIKINIS.

I’VE KIND OF BEEN FEELING SOMEONE OUT.

WHICH IS FUNNY TIMING CONSIDERING EVERYONE SAYS PREP SEASON IS WHEN YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO STAY LASER FOCUSED, AVOID DISTRACTIONS, AND PROTECT YOUR ENERGY AT ALL COSTS.

BUT WHAT’S LIFE WITHOUT A FEW RISKS?

I DON’T WANT TO SPEND EVERY SEASON OF MY LIFE WAITING FOR THE “PERFECT” TIMING TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING. SUMMER IS SUPPOSED TO FEEL FUN. FLIRTY. A LITTLE RECKLESS IN THE BEST WAY. I WANT THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO OUTSIDE OF THE GYM AND CHECK-INS. I WANT THE KIND OF EXCITEMENT THAT MAKES ORDINARY DAYS FEEL A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

AND HONESTLY, I THINK THERE’S SOMETHING REALLY BEAUTIFUL ABOUT BALANCING BOTH WORLDS.

YOU CAN CHASE GOALS RELENTLESSLY AND STILL LEAVE ROOM FOR CONNECTION.
YOU CAN STAY DISCIPLINED AND STILL LET YOURSELF HAVE WANDERING EYES.
YOU CAN BE DEEP IN PREP MODE AND STILL WANT A LITTLE CHAOS EVERY NOW AND THEN.

SO YES — STARTING JUNE 1ST, WE SLOWLY LOCK IN FOR PREP.

BUT WE’RE ALSO STEPPING INTO SUMMER.

INTO BIKINI SEASON.
INTO CONFIDENCE.
INTO EXCITEMENT.
INTO LIVING A LITTLE.

AND MAYBE THAT’S EXACTLY THE BALANCE I’VE BEEN NEEDING.
